Weight Management

My approach to weight management is heavily influenced by my 23 years of experience working with all forms of disordered eating.

Weight management clients who come to me must know that I do not believe in diets and will not hand out a standardized diet plan. When working with clients interested in weight loss I spend time interviewing and assessing your past attempts of weight loss (since 90-98% of diets fail),  family weight history, disordered eating symptomology, your current and past food patterns, and your activity and stress levels.

From this information and my time spent getting to know you, I will help you determine what your personal healthy weight range is and will coach you in making the changes in your eating and your lifestyle that will support your goal of reaching it.

Such changes often include learning to eat mindfully as a response to internal cues for hunger and fullness, exploring a variety of organic, locally grown and whole foods, and learning alternative ways to nurture yourself emotionally. I also work with you on findng the joy of movement, and incorporating more social, spiritual, and personal balance into your life.
